have a list the length of my arm of things to fix on my damn car so ive started with the interior:

cut away the panelling between the cabin and boot thats present on saloons so i can weld in the proper bracketing for hatch seats:

then set about removing the seam sealer from the floorpan joints so i can stitch weld it:

going to scrappy tomorrow to cut/drill off the hatch seat brackets and will probably do some more work on the seams.

then ive gotta find some steel tube to make a nice welded in strut brace :)

Hopefully if all goes to plan i'll be welding by the weekend :)

more pics coming up soon :)

there was a lot of bodges done on the car when i first reshelled it 2 yrs ago

my aim is to remove all of these and get the car properly sorted for the upcoming show season

today i fitted a new wiper stalk, a lights-on buzzer and a golf wiper relay :)

lol my lights on relay wont work :(

but why the golf wiper relay what does it do ?

the golf relay allows you to do programmable intermitant wipe timing

and if youve fitted a lights on buzzer to a car that didnt have one there is a grey wire taped up in the a pillar in the loom taht runs to the door pin

you ideally need a new 2 contact drivers door pin but u can simply splice it into the existing grey wires going to the single pin on the drivers door, the only downside is that if u splice then the buzzer will activate via both doors rather than just the drivers

is it a straight fit the golf item and how do you program it :?:

turn intermit on and then off wait till the screen needs wiped again and turn inter back on

it remembers the time between the 2 and uses that untill u reset it or turn ignition off

and yes its a direct fit

Hi - just quickly, does this alter the structural strength of the car, hence you putting the strut brace in?

gorra get a center pivot bracket now and get that welded in and refit the seatbelts and the seats will be complete

gorra make a custom parcel shelf after that :)

lookin good mate!

Still reckon you should use the fence post mod for the centre pivot!

You'll need to come through for a "welding day"

lol im new to welding - most of the was done by my mate (broos3 off here) but hes still no pro

there are 2 different power settings on the thing (100A clarke migmate)

a 1-2-3 switch and a MIN/MAX switch

iirc that was done with MIN - 2 setting and wirespeed of around 5

i assume it will still have welded ok just means i get those large blobs?

i have mine on 1 and max and wire speed of about 3ish but it is different for most people, just takes practice to get your set up. ive had a welder for two years and only just getting there lol, thank god for grinders. plus yes it looks strong enough still mate
