How would I get some et40 wheels to fit better?

Spacers or machining?

Isnt it et49 wheels sit closer to hub and et 40 futher away?

machining, although it would propably be cheaper to sell your wheels then buy some proper ones

I'm currently running 17" wheels on ET40, my arch's have been taken right back and sealed and they dont rub atall. Lowered 60mm and with a car full of people and they've never even touched. Although handling isn't as good as it is with the astra gsi alloys i'll have on after the winter

The wheels I got my eye on would be worth it, If I could get them to fit well, as No one else would have a set on a nova.

If by proper wheels you mean speedlines then forget it.

I know 17 et 40 would fit ok, but these are 16" et 40 some am not sure if they would fit very well?

Cheers

I cant see any reason why 16's with ET40 wouldn't fit (with arch's rolled/cut back). The only thing that may make them rub is if you had quite a wide tyre on them, but i'm using 205/40/17 and they're fine.
