Help with valver nova

Just put a 2lrt 16v out of an h plate calibra into my nova sri, started first turn of the key but will idle for bout 5 seconds then cut out :x anyone have any idea's of what it could be?

probably the idle control valve. just take it out and give it a clean out with carb cleaner. if you don't know where it is.....it is connected to the hose that comes out the bottom of the SFi box :wink:

also what mount do u use for the osf when putting a 2ltr 16v into a nova

u need a valver engine mounting kit which has a lowered front mount and a spacer for the rear mount

Can u give us some more symtoms rather than just cuttin out? All the plugs sparking? Fuel? Battery light coming on? Ecu light?

check the fuel lines, happened to me an all i had done was squashed the line so not enough fuel was getting through

Update.

When u block the return pipe to the fuel tank it runs fine so i changed the pressure regulator on the fuel rail and it didnt make a difference, getin bout 3 bar of pressure at the fuel rail and over 7.5 bar when the return is blocked! What could it be if when the returm is blocked it idles fine??

blocked / damaged fuel injectors?

faulty CTS?

i will change the injectors the nite, havent changed the cts but have disconnected it and bridged it and it didnt make any difference

u cant just disconnect/bridge it

its supposed to sent a value to the ecu as a voltage open circuit and short circuit dont mean anything to the ecu

you got all earth leads connected?
