Heater matrix removal

Rigth seen as I've got a full weld in cage the dash aint goin nowhere.

Just wonderd if any one had managed to replace on with the dash still in :cry:

i replaced my matrix a couple of week ago. quite easy really.

take out the centre console where the gearstick is, remove ashtray and surrounding trims. then you should see under the dash there is a big black box. inside that is your matrix. i think its box is held up by 7 mm bolts. drop the box and you should see the matrix. drain all the coolant and undo the 2 heater pipes that go into the bulkhead under the bonnet. once the pipes are off, the matrix will just drop down and pull out from under the dash.
