ok then i have no idea what this is

its got siemens written on it, thats all i now, could it be something todo with the auto choke of the old carb?

its on the expansion tank!

there is a green and blue wire on it lol

i think it could be a bomb

it has allways been on!

i would try and make it work with out it on, but i dont think it would as there a 3 wires blue/brown/white going into the dissy :( :?

sounds like a rev limiter or a spark enhancer!

what you see in tho photo is whats there

the wire going to the coil is going to the black wire on the coil is thats any help :?

the wires comming from the dissy only go in to the box and dont go to the cars loom :?

i recon a rev limiter then, altho i have never seen one like that before.

there again it could be running your ignition timing, iv seen it before on vauxhall engines, mk2 cav 1.6 carb engines have something like that!

just goes from the pump, to the thingy with the screw to the carb, :?

Yeah its got to be something to do with the dizzy timing! sure of it.

what carb do you have? and its that egine original on that car?

has orginal engine

it did have an auto choke carb, but i swaped it for a webber 32/34

i'd go with his option, take it out carefully an see if it runs ok if it doesn't put it back in an leave it in!

its an ignition controller from a mk3 cav carb

prolly doing the job of the ignition module would do normally or helping set the advance retard curve depending on temperature etc

sounds liek someones bodged in a loom from a cav for some reason
