View Full Version : fitting fk coilovers
which parts of the old top suspension mounts do you use?
have got the old one off an i'm confused as to which bits to transfer over onto the coilover
cheers
dave
the plate on top of the old shock. it bolts up into the turret with 2 13mm nuts. there is one big nut in the centre to open to get this off the old assembly
i know how to remove it from the car!
i've got it off an all apart but i apear have too many nuts?
will see if i can get a pic of what i mean.
on the top of the coilover there are 2 (think) 19mm nuts an normally only one is used to bolt the hole lot together, as the weight of the car transfers to the spring under load to hold it all together
right this is the pic of how they came out of the box along with standard shortened shock

this is what i think is the same bit on the coilover as the shortrned shock

so it should mean just putting this bit on but it doesn't seem to fit right??

any ideas?
that is odd. i just got avo coilovers for the rally car 2 days ago and the top of the front coilover is curved like the standard you show and it will fit into the top mount perfect.
Can you take off the top of the new coilover and put the standard piece on, it looks to be the same diameter. maybe the piece on the coilover was only put on to keep it together until its being fitted

think u just change the brass bits over providing theres not 2 much play in the spring or it will jump round like a twat
