I know that because its injection you dont have a choke as you would on a carb but i think the problem with my SRi at the minute is that its over choked at the begining of any journey. As far as i understand the ecu controls the mixture of the fuel, based on readings from its sensors. could it be one of these sensors that's faulty, causing it to run far to rich when the engine is cold? any help would be appreciated right now. cheers

highly posable and if it is dependent on the temperature then it would be a faulty temp sensor, or bad connection!, however it could just be that the injectors need cleaning and in the cold they arnt causing the fuel to atomise....

cheers buddy, i'l try cleaning the injectors and check the connections. its an annoying problem because you take it to a garage and its running fine when you get it there, but when its bad it seems quite serious

what are your symptoms??

the coolant temp sensor is kinda prone to going but this would make it run shite all the time

nijectors could cause bad fuel atomisation as DS said

possibly a bad ignition system component too?
