Just been out to take a couple of pics off the nova with the new GSi front.

I've got a loada money for chrimbo (just ben paid) so i wanna know what you all think i should do next ?

Clear rears ? (or is it too standard looking)

Colour coded Wing mirrors ?

-80mm prehaps !?

Smooth boot ? (could someone photoshop that)

(I've got a GSi spoiler that needs sprayin + putting on , and the spilitter needs replacing with one that fits as it was off my old bumper)

yep, i've been trying to find a Red/grey SRi interior but it's hard to get one that's in A1 condition (as the rest of my car)

i was thinking of buckets maybe ?

Change the wheels, euro rear cluster, new number plates, new grill and get rid of the Gmax sticker..

and what riggy said ^^^

Nick
26-12-04, 04:47 PM
nah wheels are gonna stay , some people don't like them, but they look quite good in real life.

i'd agree with the rest tho... the grill was a quick fix after a wood pigeon went through my old one. i thought it looked ok tho ?....

Mike.
26-12-04, 05:10 PM
it looks ok nick, i'd say get clear rears and sort out the interior

Nick
26-12-04, 05:15 PM
yep, that's what i was thinking....

i just want to get the outside/inside finished completly before the engine is finished

cheers novataka !

that just looks ugly tho !, it'd be ok if the bumper was smoothed/sprayed.

at least that's cleared that off the list lol

This is what i'd do next if i'd just bought/owned the car.

1. New Std grill
2. Colour code mirrors, or manta 400 mirrors
3. Change wheels, they are too Chav/boy racer (softstars, comp mo's, allesio's or something from the rest of the vaux range?)
4. Nice interior
5. Engine work?

As it sits, its a very tidy nice example of a nova :D Oh, and clear the snow off it :P

thanks mate, it's very clean

as i said, the wheels are staying, they cost me too much and do look quite good in real life. i agree that they are kinda chav like, but they are something different to the usual speedlines e.t.c

i'm currently extensivly rebuilding a 1.6 T40, then after the summer it's going to recieve some nitrous (again, not helping the chavness lol) and the be kept as a track/weekend car, as it should be fairly nippy.

Nick
26-12-04, 05:46 PM
got any pics of the manta 400 mirrors on a nova , keith ?

krobinson
26-12-04, 05:55 PM
Sure do.. I also have a set in the drawer behind me ;)

Still thinking about putting them on my Blue nova, or i mite just save them for my next Nova.

i could see how they would appeal to someone,

but really, please don't put them on your "lagoon blue" nova :-) hehe

it's pretty perfect as it is,

altho, they mite look ok, seeing as you have that curvey rear wiper .

Also, i think it'd accept a lguna splitter very nicely.

Nick

about my wheels..

i would swap them for speedlines if someone was to give me a good offer, of about ?400.

in near perfect condition (no kirbs/chips e.t.c) with yokohama's. et45

it's just a money thing really, i'm happy with them tho

Adam

I would get a standard grill, or spray the mesh black on yours, and probably colour code the mirrors. :D
One more thing:-
how come your car has snow on but there is no snow on the road/pavement etc. :?

Nick
26-12-04, 06:06 PM
i don't know, my car was parked infront of the house, which is quite shaded all the time .

there is snow on the grass round the back, and on the canal too (which is also round the back)

the boat has snow on as well.

If your happy, keep the wheels, they are different.
What are they, 15's?
I don't think you would get ?400 for them, i paid ?250 for my 16" Masitalys

I thought it had just snowed on your car

I get that weird weather around the side of my house, its always worse at the front than the back.

yep i am happy with them, but i'd swap them for a good offer.

yes, ?400 is very very optomistic lol, it just shows what it'd take to swap them. they are pristine tho, only a few months old

i suppose it's the "chav" comments that people have made.

Adam
26-12-04, 06:10 PM
They probably appeal as a bit chav because they are a bit, too shiny chromy, if you get what i mean.
I think they look decent though.
You could put them for sale on somewhere like corsasport, or migweb, they would probably look more at home on something like a modded corsa.

lol yep, i'm right near the sea too, so whenever it rains the car gets muddy (due to the silt in the rain) it's herrendous, so i park it under the shade at the front.

i just tried to start the boat, but it's all siezed.. so it's being sold lol, anyone want a boat !

ohh the shiny chrome lol... it comes up like that on photos, but when you see them in real life, they are not that shiny at all, they are more like a satin flat silver.

theres a really nice kitted corsa with the same wheels on, Just really smooth, sublte kit, really low, and it does look good.

Theres another GSi with the same wheels as me, that's low and standard, looks the part

I know the mirrors would look good on it, i had them on mid-rebuild to see what it looked like, mint :D

I've had loads of splitters on over the year's, but i'll be making loads of boat trips this year and they are a curse on the ramps. So for now, i wont be fitting one.

Keith

Nick
26-12-04, 06:21 PM
lol, i have a boat for sale as of now :-) ?

doubt it'd fit a car on it lol

ever thought of doing a removable splitter !?

maybe some kind of deisng that allows you to clip it on and off, without visable clips, and fits securley !?

Replace the grill with standard one.
Get a nice clean interior for it.

Fit euroclusters, not clears they look tacky i think,

looking good mate, but i would

take the grab handle off
delock it
maybe some light tints?

and twin reverse rear lights rather than clear ones

Nick
26-12-04, 10:28 PM
where do i get the euro clusters from ?

burgo
27-12-04, 03:37 PM
dont have a smooth boot get one of those very early boots with no grab handle, that would look much better on your car

Nick
27-12-04, 05:54 PM
whereabouts do i get the euro clusters from !?

and how much are they !

benji
27-12-04, 06:02 PM
what engine is in it?

how much do you have to spend and how old are you?

Nick
27-12-04, 06:39 PM
at the moment it is a 1.2 carb

i'm building the 1.6 t40.

currently i am 18 and been driving for over a year (passed about a month after my 17th)

so by the time the engine is finished, i will be just 19, 2 years NCB and i'l stick it on flux...

it'l probably still be fairly expensive, but i have a gap yera at the moment (befoe uni) and i'm earning v.good money (for my age) at an architects (what i want to do at uni) with no outgoings . (yet)

so by the end of summer i'l be looiking at having ?8-10k saved up, some of that will be saved. the rest i can spend on whatever i like....

is that what you meant benji ?

Nick
27-12-04, 06:45 PM
+ some of that money is already in my possesion.

coming from a source which i do not want to go into. (all 100% legal lmao) just personal things....

*cue some a-hole saying "i'm 40 and i can't save 8k in a year, so how can you when your 18"*

Nick

unfortunatly that's 100% correct.

but if a nova comes out of the end of it all, it's all worth it !

stick the 1600 in now, don't tell the insurance. build it up as you go

Nick
27-12-04, 08:48 PM
naaah way, i'd rather not do that.

whilst the engine is out, it'l be alot easier to be rebuilt anyway, I'd rather do it all in one go.

You said earlier that you want an Euro Cluster? Which one? Reverse or Fog? I got one Euro Fog cluster if you want. It's in mint condition. Then tell me something.

Not a fan of the colour bit grandad like for me...

Wheels look good imo, and the smooth boot wouldn't go a miss either!
