8v well easier to work on and cheaper and if tuned well enuff like sumone on here (can't remember the name) they go like fcuk, and if you crash with a valver shoved in your nova should think u'll come out with no legs as they are built to house the 8v engines that they all originally started with!

8v's maybe easier to work on, but I think the 16v engines are waaaaayyyyyy nicer to look at!! :)

2.0 16v on it's way soon!!! (again!!!!) :)

Definatly. Anyway Tom :-/ , basically all 16v novas are seam welded, increaseing the structural rigidity in the front end, so there would be far less front end deformation in a front ender!!!!!!!! and they ain't harder to work on.

seems alot of hassle to me mate......so u'd spend ?xxx on a valver conversion because it looks nice....no didn't think so....16v power is nice but do they ever run right, and can you use them from day -to-day, because lets face it although many people on here are really into novas can anyone really afford to have a 2l nova 16v with the insurance and everything to just to drive it now and then? And as for being not harder to work on maybe not...but more bits more problems?

erm.....they do run right
they are newer
they are more powerful
do look better
can use them everyday
same hassles to get them in coz they are both big block so u may as well go for the 16v.
I know a few peeps who have has 8v then got sick of it and gone for 16v and wondered y they didnt in the first place
