View Full Version : no temp reading
I have had no temperature reading for a while now I replaced the temp gauge that screws into the block under the inlet manifold and this made no difference, still no reading!
Could the problem be the thermostat?
It will either be the thermostat or you dont have any water in it!! :D

check how clean the metal is on the contacts aswel for the temp sender
The contacts are fine on the sender unit, so I'll check the thermostat? any ideas what to look for or would it just be fuct

Disconnect the blue wire that goes to the temperature sender, turn the ignition to II then uses a multimeter to measure the voltage on the blue wire. This should be +12v. If it is then hold this wire to earth and the temp guage should go into the red, this means your temp sender is dodgy (or you have no water in). If the +12v is not present then you either have a fault with your clocks or wiring between your clocks.
Good luck
