Hello all.

I recently bought a 1.2 Merit as my first car. The problem is it does not have its handbook. Can anybody tell me the tyre pressures for it please (standard wheels)?

Also is there anything else important in the handbook I should know?

Thanks alot. :D

According to Haynes, tyres should be the following pressures:

145 13inch tyres - 23 lbf/inch
155/70 13inch tyres - 24 lbf/inch
175/70 13inch tyres - 22 lbf/inch
165/65 14inch tyres - 24 lbf/inch

Numbers are the same for front and rear tyres, and are quoted for 'up to 3 persons' in the car :+:

just give your tyre a kick every once in a while.

yes less presusre = "more" grip, but also you wear the shoulders of the tyres out.

more pressure = "more" stable cornering as the wall isnt rolling about being crap, but you wear the centre down.

26-28psi is about the norm

:D lol.

lbf/inch = Pounds per Square Inch = Psi

missed out the 'square' because you can't get it on keyboard in a forum prolly.

you aint gonna wear the shoulders out unless you run round for 6 months with 20 psi in. and to wear the centres outyou need to run about 40 psi. and anyone with a slammed car should know the insides wear faster cus of camber change!
