Exhaust manifold problem

I have a 1.6 8v engine in my nova, the engine recently came out of a 1990 astra, will a mk2 astra janspeed exhaust manifold fit?

If the engine was out of a MK2 astra then the manifold should fit as the engine is a mk2 astra just inside a nova shell.

depends what size engine the mk2 astra is and wether you need a lamba sensor.

the engine is a 1.6, its 8 valve and I don't know if it has a lamda sensor

will need some sort of adaptor to join the astra manifold(down pipe) to the nova system because they are at different angles... will work tho

you could just use the nova gte or gsi manifold, would make life easier

yup the exhaust ports are the same on all the small block ohc engines so u can use a full proper nova system

get nova GTE manifold and downpipe and mate it upto a nova GTE system

i think the first silencer box (under gearbox) will be to big to fit between ur grbox and floorpan if ur car aint a proper GTE*

me magnex GSi system box dont fit under my SR! so i spose it'll be the same for a GTE?

*as in the lenght/diameter of the box, not the shape of ur floorpan.

i got a full magnex system for a gsi on my sri and it fits fine :?:

i thought all shells were basically the same apart from the gte/gsi had thicker steel in the engine bay

GSi and SRi are the same system, with a CAT. but u aint got a CAT the system aint gonna fit.

CAT'ted nova's have a 3 bolt triangle flange fitting connected to the CAT box, non CAT'ted nova's dont, its a two bolt oval flange.

how the cat connects to the down pipe on mine is the same as how the downpipe connects to the front of my mates sr

I bought the fu*kin thing on ebay... thought it would fit the nova OK as it came from an astra originally. Only realised AFTER I bid that it wouldn't, sods law, I won it. I thought with the problem with the angle on the exhaust manifold to the downpipe could be done with a small length of flexi exhaust pipe or get a m8 to make the bracket to fit the 2 together.

or do I just sell the bloody manifold and buy the right one?

sell it, thats wot i did with me magnex system cuz it didnt fit my nova!
