I'd wait and see the damage first, to burn out an exhaust valve is prety good going. It depends on whether it's taken out the valve seat too.

Get some pics up

new valves, recut/ possably fit inserts and then its just like a head gasket job really, might be cheaper to get a replacement head tho. I'd be more worried about why its burn the valve seat tho.....

engine running lean, or the timing is too far advanced

i thought the timing may have been out, due to sometimes when you turn the key it doesnt turn over straight away. also its been cutting out loads when the auto choke goes off :?

yer a common sign of ill-timing

mine used to do it sometimes, when you turn the ignition off, the engine sounds like it tried to run on it's own.

one of my mates car did it for about 10 mins in a pub carpark. it was halarious.

hopefully you will get away with just replacing the valve and oil valve stem seal :? 8)

i think if my car started doing that i'd be shoving it into gear with the foot brake on hard and lifting the clutch to stall it
