Re-built gsi engine. E16se

New pistons, re-bore, head skim, bearings all seals and gaskets. Courtney cam. New exhaust valves. New water pump. spent over ?800 on it.

Has covered 500miles before being removed for a valver.

Run sweet as a nut, run it below 3000rpm for 500 miles. Just needs an oil change to syntheic oil and would be sorted.

How much you rekon its worth?

around ?100 unless it is to the right person who would pay more. They are quite readily available now these engines.

nah ; yeah they're readily available still, but not rebuilt. i think ?300 - ?500. i know its possible to find bigger cc vaux engines for that money; but they wont have been rebuilt for that money.. so anything can go wrong with em. here with a rebuilt lump theres a chance to be running optimal/ original power, mpg, emissions etc. ?100 is far too cheap; ur a fool if ya didn't try advertising it for much more than that; it the biggest small block motor vaux did, its an old skool j -series; no ecotec electronic gadgets/sensors everywhere.. an for me i think its best engine that suits a nova.

We had a BRAND NEW 1.6 GTE engine from Vaux and struggled to get ?250!! It cost ?1500!!

I would say ?150 too.

also depends on who rebuilt it and if you have reciepts. I would say ?200 tops but no less than ?150. All depends if anybody wants it or not

i agree with peester, if its your engine mate then try and sell it for a good price. If your buying it then try get it for a low price!! but they are good engines and well suited to a nova :D

i would say ?300 or so.

its worth what someone will pay, if there is noone at the time your after selling it then you will probably let it go cheap, but your selling it an there are a few people after it then its what they are willing to pay.

some chap on here trying to sell a 1.6 T40 (140bhp) and he only wants 700 notes for that.

i seriously doubt you'd get anywhere near ?500, as his engine had about twice the length spec as yours.

Well i thought about it, How much would I be willing to pay for the engine if i didnt already own it. ?250 - ?300 would be fair I think.
