as you all know i have phase 3 software at the min but after talkin to a couple of people im toying with the idea of cahnging it to Phase 3.5. this mainly due to the fact ots meant to be more drivable through 2 wheels.

is that right and is it a good idea to do this? 8)

It drives much better.
I drive it myself as well.

Is still have an ECU with Phase 3.
But I stay with Phase 3,5.
And beware with Phase 3 I broke my reaction rods (I do not know the englisch word for it) with it.
And you don't want that on high speed.

reaction rods = drive shafts !?lol

i'd got for 3.5 if you've got the cash, i don't really get what your saying about the increased driveability through 2 wheels tho !?

will have to wait till for end of jan for it, but wanst sure if it was worth it. will hopefully see some of you at the mk meet and if its ok someone take me out in theres that has it so i can feel the differnece

It isn't the drive shafts (but 1 of them broke as well)

Is is the metal bars on the front of the car that is fitted in a piece of rubber and goes towards the wheel hubs ??

Like I said sorry for my english but I give it a try.

cv joint?

i take it a phase 3.5 gives more power and torque than phase 3, but it spreads it more evenly?

It where the TIE -BARS that broke off.
Lets say one was broken and one had a big crack in it.

And it broke off when I was at a speed of 35 Mph in the city.

And yes the phase 3,5 has the power on a wider range of revs.
Than the phase 3.

I still have the scan the Dyno run of phase 3,5 so if it is there you can see the differents on my webpage.

To say phase 3.5 is more drivable than p3 is a load of bollocks.

I think they come to that conclusion because whilst p3 holds 1.15 bar and overboosts to 1.5 bar (0.35 bar overboost difference) the p3.5 holds 1.25 bar and also overboosts to 1.5 bar (0.25 bar difference).

I've had both and thats the only difference as far as I can tell. P3.5 has more safety features I believe, better lambda control and it apparently doesn't allow boost until its detected a rich lambda signal.

I've had (and still have) a few problems with both of them, my p3 wouldn't hold more than 0.9 bar. I got regal to upgrade it, cost about ?130 if you've already got p3, need to send them your ecu to recalibrate the map sensor.

I think its most drivable in pos 1 of the powerwheel, which is about 0.75 bar with no overboost, and thats in a 4wd Calibra, i cant imagine how it would drive in a 2wd Nova!

3.5 is much better in nova... and the lamba cut is a nice upgrade... just make sure your lamba is new/good... or expect it to dump boost

Why is that Steve?
