Lol.Had a fairly hectic time this weekend swapping engines round.
Started 9.00pm Fri night. Had 1 engine and box out by midnight on me own.
Started again 8.00 am Sat morning ( with 2 m8s), had an engine and box out of another car, swapped the internals around in 2 gearboxes and put the 1st engine and box back in its new car. All done running and tested by 7.00pm.
Anyone else done a marathon session like this and beat my 14hr time? Ste must have done:D

i have to take my 1300 engine out of my nova and put a new one in. if either of you wants to try and beat your records on my car ill gladly sit, watch and time you if you like. the gearbox needs swapping too.

whats the best way to swap the engine and gearbox. do they have to be taken out separately.

years back b4 the way of fitting big block engines was known

i fitted a 1.6 big block lump from a mk2 cav in just under 2 months :D

i had quite a lot ov head scratches as nothing seamed to fit lol

even though my "mechanic" mate said they only made 1 version ov the 1.6 engine and it would drop in easy, it didnt seam to want to go in :p

lmao @Micky :D

What way do you lot take yours out?
When I've popped the driveshafts, I also undo the track control arms, ties bars and anti roll bar and drop it down through (mc's method)

It was good working with you over the weekend Charles. If you ever need any help again I'll gladly be more than happy to offer my assistance, after all, who else are you going to get to hold all the nuts and bolts ;) It was a great day being involved and I've learned a lot more about engines. Cheers CP and also many thanks to MC :)

i drop them out the bottom, much easier then jack car over the engine, i leave the shafts in the box so it don't drip oil everywhere

16v Nova - Toolkit, Trouble, Points and great expence all come as standard :)

2.0 16v back soon :D
