View Full Version : 2.0ltr bottom end with 1.6 top end?
Has anyone ever tried this? Would it be a good combination? Or is it better sticking with the 2.0ltr top end?
Just a thought...........
You wouldnt want to even if you could, try a 2.0l head on a 1.6 bottom possibly.
try a 2.0l head on a 1.6 bottom possibly
Wouldn't you have to skim it hell of a lot though? I take it the benefits would be bigger valves and better flow?
And why not the 2.0ltr bottom and 1.6 top? I was thinking it might make quite an interesting hybrid?
Too much stroke and not enough poke!

Has anyone on here ever done a 2.0l head and 1.6 bottom?
Do you know how twin 40's would be with that-e.g would 45's be better?
I dont know of this being done, Stu is putting a 1.6 16v onto his 1.2 and i know someone else that has put a 2.0l onto a 2.2 bottom end.
Hhhhmmmm, might be interesting to be the first then, although i still haven't sorted my engine out yet-just need the head sorted but i'm a lazy bastard
It's cold aswell and i don't have a garage :(
There is a good reason no ones done it!
Oh, prob best just sticking to a large valve 1.6 head then. Just one of those random thoughts :D
isnt the 2l block too long to make the small block head fit, and vice versa
the 16v head "might" go onto the 1.2 next year. but for now the 8v will stay.

yeh i was sure that a big block head would not go on a small block!!
bruce
I thought you could get a small block 2.0ltr 8 valve? Although there's not many about. Then it'd fit
urban myth
like i thought there was a small block 1.8 16V but apparently the bay in the corsa c is much bigger than the nova/corsab so it can comfortably take the big blocks.
oh, was told they had them in early cav's but have never seen one-probably why if they don't exist!
Those corsa sri 1.8's must be fooking rapid :o

Doubtful, Vaux have never spent money developing 1.8's.
