i told you that before spaz!

i have pictures from rally cars to prove it.
dan hasn't got it, neither has cambridge.
they wouldn't remove it if it weren't structual.

slap, slap, slap.

cut it out, but stop when you get the the 2nd skin of metal thats about 20-25mm up from the bottom, this bit is needed to retain some strength.
if your that worried, bung a strutbrace in.

dan and i did it for air flow to the carbs (and to lose a bit of weight, or to justify the strut brace)

id recomend stitch welding along the 2 sheets of metal, and maybe even along the bottom (where it goes flat for the battery tray)

also cut out all un nessecary seat mounts, dash mounts etc and that stupid piece of steel over the front of the tunnel

same as dan. i guess were lazy

yes!!

i used a feista wiper bracket and the standard nova motor fitted in the bracket perfect, so no wiring to be done!!

i think you'll find thats a was in austins case as its far superior to that now lol

heres a pic of the lazy git way 8) although retaining the wiper motor part for me was doubled as the place to mount the filter king on the rear of it

get that battory out of the bay and into the boot mate. helps with weight distribution in the car and looks better

does this make a big differance with the amount of hot air that is being held at the back of the engine bay cos of bulk head?

Aragorn
19-12-04, 10:23 AM
due to the vents on the scuttle panel being a low pressure area u get air flowing into the bay from the rear now as well as the front, as has been said dan and cambridge did this to improve airflow to their carbs

I have not done this to inprove air flow to mah carbs as i dont have any!! but it makes the bay look so much biger and i like the look. Heres a pic of what it looked like ages ago.

yeh i got pics of the bay bassicly as it stands just now but, mah garage is abit dark and not great for taking pics of a black engine bay. But if you want a pic of the top bulkhead panel removed then i will get one and send it to you via pm if you like??
