Astra 1.6 - 2.0 xe

I've bought an Astra 1.6, 4 door in red as a runaround and was just wondering if putting an XE engine into an astra is a simple straightforward swap, using the same mounts, shafts etc

The astra is an N reg 1.6 8v GLS I think, it has power steering/aircon/electric everything. Does that affect anything?

If I would need to start sourcing new mounts and shafts or putting new suspension on, I can't be arsed, but if it is just a case of taking out the old 1.6 and putting in the XE then it is a very real possibility.

Any info would be appreciated.

it will be a straight swap as in mounts shafts ect.. only think is a bit of wiring an sort out the fueling, much like changing a 1.2 to 1.6gte nova i would have thought.

hmm... interesting, this is very tempting, I dont think I could live with a 1.6 as my daily driver, but a 2.0 would be a bit better.

any got any 2.0 engine lying around that they want to get rid of(oh and a spare day or 2 to fit it!! lol)
