Hi,
I'm thinking of swapping my 1.3 block & Head next year for a 1.6 GTE/GSI block/head.
I would keep 40's and cam obviously so it won't involve much.

Firstly.
Can I use the 1.6 block and head with a 1.2 cam carrier/rocker cover with my kent ast2 in?

Or does it have to be the 1.6 one with all that oil breather crap.

Secondly
I know my F10 WR won't fit straight on the 1.6 block. But can i take the flywheel and clutch off my spare 1.2 block and fit onto the 1.6 block?

Is it fairly easy? will i need 1.2 or 1.6 starter motor?

I like having a long fith gear, good economy and 4th takes me to 120 anyway lol. F13 CR are too short for me. I could always compromise on with a 4.18 instead of 3.94 fd.

Will an F10 take 120bhp+ though?

thanks guys.

you'd be better swapping the cam into the proper carrier as the 1.6 doesnt have an oil seperator in the breather like the 1.2

if u fit a 1.2 flywheel the starter wont engage with it, you'd need to redrill the mounts or summat cos there would be about a 1cm gap iirc

u could put your F10 cluster into the F13 casing if u wanted to keep the F10WR gearing

first thing you should do is drop the wr box. i've just fitted a f15cr(same ratiuos as f13cr, or near enough) to mine with a standard fd (3.7 i think) and the differance is unbelivable. i had wr for ages and never having different i thought it was great, it's nice to do 130 in a 1.4 but i would never swap back. the change in acceleration is unbelivable

you can run your sr ignition e.t.c on the kent cam as it has all the dizzy drive types machined into it.

MD said that he ran the 2.08v on his 1.2 ignition, like i am going to do on my 1.6 t40 !

there was another quite large problem i discovered with doing it.. completly forgotten what it is now.....
