I lowered my beast 60mm a while ago and it's always sat high at the back (like they're standard springs)-has anyone else had that? It's really annoying, so now i'm on the lookout for some 80mm rear springs or possibly coilovers.

I've even put my spare wheel&jack back in to try and weigh it down abit! Has anyone else had this or is everyone else's fine at the back on a -60mm drop?

Is the back stripped?

And no I have never had a problem when lowering cars.

i had exactly the same prob with a pmc -60mm kit i bought, thought they'd supplied the wrong springs it was that high!! i resorted to three 20kg bags of sand in the back, but that was a pointless exercise as it just added the weight i'd stripped out  only solution is to junk the springs and get some custom ones.

Terry when you came over last you were moaning about the 17"s scrubbing?

chelle (nova~lolly) has exactly the same problem. still cant work out what it is because all springs are the same make and exactly the same lowering. probably get some custom ones or change shokcs

what shocks are u using? My car sat too low at the back with 60 all round (put 50 springs on the rear now), but then mine always has been a little backwards :?

if you have removed any weight then it will sit higher than they say, the springs are done and based on a standard car. As stu has said when mine was on the billie -35 springs it was actually higher than his standard 1.2 due to the mass of weight we stripped out. now on -60mm springs and it sits about standard gte height.

? :o ?

think he means mate as 60 mm puts alot of strain on standard shockers it'll wreck them eventually

yus... i've heard tales of 60mil drop on standard shocks causing the springs to fall out over lumps/corners etc as the springs are too short for the shocks

also for my 2ps worth, some of the kits are designed with the european markets where they prefer the 'raked' look with the arse in the air. the front is prob 60mm down but the back isnt to get that look.

had the same prob on a 1.2 using 60mm springs.

depends on make of springs, about 15mm lower on the rear seems to do the trick tho.

Ben-i've never had a problem with the 17's rubbing, they clear fine.

The car isn't stripped out atall (i had just removed the spare wheel+jack etc). I'm not 100% on the make as i just bought them off of Ben and whacked them on! Ben-any ideas?!

I've now got 15" astra gsi alloys-i thought maybe because of the 17's it was making it sit abit high at the back but the 15's look even worse!

I'm going to look into custom springs and depending on the price i'm going to look into getting some coilovers over from Germany-so much cheaper!

I found the same problem with my Yellow Nova, so got some fat mates to sit in the back to try and make the springs and shocks settle  didn't do the trick, but looked low as fcuk with them in 8) Getting coilovers now so will solve the problem properly :D

There is your problem...were they purple ones, I was trying to find that rear set but was a spring missing, turns out it's good I didn't get them then!

They are yellow shocks+red springs. On the lookout for coilovers now, THEN it will be slammed 8)
