After looking around for a while, and saving my pennies up, i found a nova on ebay, which was pretty close to me, so i went and had a look at it... Is a really clean car, just the bloke who owned it had been a bit reckless, eg.. pulled paint off while taking bump strips off etc... so it need a little tidying up, then i can start to make it look how i want it to...

what you think?

its a 1.2i on a K plate...

Gotta get a few things sorted on it first, the brakes need bleeding, maybe a new master cylinder, the bonnet need respraying, laquer is coming off. The door is down to primer where the bloke who i bought it off had ripped the bump strip off, without a care in the world, and a tinny bit of rust on the same door... Getting a full gasket kit for it tomorrow, going to replace the head gasket and the manifold gasket as the manifold is blowing. He threw in some GSi side skirts aswell, but going to get them fitted after all this^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Im not sure, not yet anyway, im only 15 at the moment, will stick with 1.2i, do a few things to it, not sure what thow. Was going to put a 1.3sr head on it, but i think that will only work if its carbed? am i wrong?

15? wow! good on you mate! and im pretty certain u can still put a 1.3 head on a 1.2i

thats correct. a 1.2i has apparently less hp than a 1.0. aniway a 1.2 is sound on the old insurance. im 21 at the mo,and insurance is cheap like.at least you have a few years to save up? most of yer pennies will prob go towards stinking theory and drivin lessons and the test. it sucks!

i love those wheels on novas. Well you'll have plently on time to work on it before you can drive so get the practice in as you will need it. Being a nova driver you'll have to get used it breaking when you least want it to

The wheels on it at the moment are minging!!!!! they are Astra GTE wheels i believe, 3 of them have one profile, and the other has a different profile!! they rub like anything man.(on a 60mm drop)

either wanna get some Cav Gsi rims, or some speedlines sprayed in a crazy colour!! :multi:

Found out what was wrong with the brakes, where the pipe going to the front brakes has been replaced at some point, they havent put it in a very good place. It was rubbing on some sort of a metal clip and that put a hole in it... there for, brakes werent working very good.

Bodywork wise, i need a new drivers door, then i can start to prep the bonnet, the front drivers wing and the door ready for painting... but im skint now!! also need a new battery

Yeah, thats a nice car mate.
Im going to keep the bumpers black, and just get em really shinning, because i have them side skirts aswell... im really tempted to get some speedlines now, seeing what they look like on your car, i was going to go for some cav gsi ones....

Thats exactly what happened to my car, it was standing for 3months whilst waiting for driving tests etc, and it rotted really badly.
Keep an eye out for spots of rust mate.
I saw that car on ebay, looks pretty tidy.
Well done.

Very nice car you bought there mate, will look very nice if you just keep on top of it and dont let it sit for too long, fair play for being so into it at a young age..should look nice once finished.
