how hard would this be?

Its a sri spoiler, would i just need paint, and clear laquer? or would i really have to primer it?

Any ideas of what bodyshops would charge me

oh and who do i fit it??? lol

cheers

first of all, what are u gonna paint it will? il assume spray cans.

is the spoiler the same colour as ur car already?

if it isnt or if its unpainted then u will need to key the surface. approx 600 grit wet n dry should do. then prime it. if its not painted use a plastic primer - this will melt to some extent to the plastic. if it is painted then u can use a normal highbuild primer. its important to use a primer for various reasons, -to match the final colour because the paint will be slightly transparent and the wrong colour primer/backing can effect ur colour match, and also to allow the paint to lay on the surface and be able to grip.

apply several coats of primer flating off between coats with 1000grit wet and dry (wet) will be right enough till any inperfections are evened out.

then start to apply ur colour coat. the manufacturer of the paint will tell u the flash off times (time for paint to start to dry before applying another coat). dnt worry if u get a run coz it can polish out.

once the paints dry u can flat any runs, orange peel etc off with 1200 - 1500 grit wet and dry (wet) dry properly. Now apply ur laquer, give it a few coats then again flat off ur final coat with 1500 - 2000 grit wet and dry (wet). get ur t-cut out and cut it with a damp cloth. then polish.

it will now be as shiney as a mother f***er!

u can fix it to ur boot either by the standard fixings (which may be an a**e to fit due to drilling the holes) or with an adhesive/sealer such as tiger seal ar an equivelant leaving plenty of time for this to dry.

A body shop could do the whole lot for u but u coul pay anything up to a ?150+

Would an adhesive like tiger seal be strong to keep it on? Would the tailgate need to be removed to fit?

cheers

yeah, but make sure theres plenty on and both surfaces are well keyed. this stuff is stupidly stong when its set and flexable to some extent. thats whats used to stick ur bonnet skin to ur bonnet etc.
