Fuel Conversion?

Hey guys,

My 1986 C-Reg runs on 4 Star but all of my local garages have recently stopped selling it! Currently stuck on my drive with no petrol what so ever! :(

Can i convert the car to run on un-leaded? If so how much is this going to cost me?

you just need to retard the ignition timing to 9 degrees by moving the distributor. 2 minute job. Or use additive. You could also just run unleaded but it may pink a little.

or run it on super-unleaded/optimax/bpultimate until u get the timing sorted

if you read any nove brouchers it says the all novas were pre-set to run on leaded or unleaded

the key part of the leaded/unleaded setup is the valve seats. and im fairly sure its just a timing change for the nova engines

arn't all Nova's after 1985 able to run on Unleaded ok?

will i require a strobe do be able to alter the timing?

Will i lose power in retarding it?

Will unleaded damage the valves if i use it and dont convert?

i have a 1.3 SR of 86 and i put directly unleaded and never had problems
