I used to skate all the time, but I snapped my board and never bothered getting another as it would have eaten into my car funds!!!(this was about 5 years ago)

I still occasionally goto a few different places and use a mates board, but not very often anymore.

Generally you badly injure your shins, ankles and wrists...

Snow is better, you can go bigger on snow...

its not that bad. kinda like riding a bike for the first time. once youve got the hang of it, then ur away. never tried snowboarding.

You know how hard ice is?

It can be like that in some places, that's when you stack and hurt.

But in the powder you can do what you want, as long as it's deep.

The competition jumps have landings at almost the same angle as the rider comes down at it so it's like landing from a 6ft wall on your feet, not too bad.

I was a sponsered Street rider (dirt jump moutain bike things) for a very short time, untill i crashed into a tree which fractured my ribs and made me cough up blood randomly for a month or two. Then i snapped a ligament in my wrist :-)

aint been out for a year now, deffo gonna get back into it soon tho.

CHRIST NO! - i knocked my self out, fractured my nose and gashed half of my chin open after a prettty extreme 9 foot high ion cross off a kicker resulted in a face plant !

was quality tho.. cos all the blood in the snow looks alot more than it really is, i think people thought i was bleeding to death !haha

I (and all my mates) used to skate, haven't for a few years now. It's funny you should post this as I've got my deck in the back of my car, just picked it up from my dads a few days ago!!

We mostly do downhill mountain bike stuff now...

Stanton

used to do that, but more bmx/mtb reli.

came off > hurt, not reli been back on since.

nothing beats the feeling of freedom and the self betterment as u pull another trick or ride a trail faster...

** slaps face ** tlk like a 'normal' person.........

ahh street riding is worse.. lotsa concrete things to mash ure shins/legs/arms/face/head on.

is seen someone literally snap both bones in their forearm, it looked funny tho :-) surpisngly he found it quite amusing ! Seen a shin to the bone from a pedal, that must've killed...

worst one was my friend who was moto-x'ing, well pissing bout on his dad's bultaco inbwteen his dad's events, accidnetly went off a 50'ish foot cliff, lucky falling thru a quite light but dense tree he managed to land it n fall off quite lightly, untill he realised he had a Branch thru his wrist LMAO !

he then had to climb back up cos no-one was anywhere near him, and then to take the biscuit, the St-John's ambulance woman fainted! hahahahahhaha

No advertising on the site please.

Plus those are designed for the lame and lazy.

If you gonna get one get the full on longboard, goes faster and is based on a real board, not a banana board.

aye, it was pretty enjoyable, it was the 4th of DEC we went, so just this last weekend. We travelled all the way from Cumbria too !

They had a world record attempt and some guy doing a backflip... but the one thing that pissed me off was

FUCKING BASTARD TWAT kids with airhorns sitting, well, everywhere ! they just wouldn't shut up... good job i took the Imigran pills with me
