Right, been driving round in my astra for a few months and its developed a few problems,i.e. leaking oil, not starting when warm, broken apex shock absorber, split balljoint, and the rear arches are rusting really bad.
Saved up about ?800, so what would you do:-
A/Look for as mint as possible nova(got my eye on a nova a few streets away, its a mk2 nova spin, completely original, and rear arches solid, no rust anywhere, for sale 300ono. So buy that for about ?250, then have about ?500 to spend on mods.
I already got 16" masitaly alloys to put on off my astra, and already got ice. So ?100 for suspension kit, lowered 40mm or 60mm, ?50ish to uprate the brakes to astra gte, ?50ish to get some gsi bumpers, and a front splitter of some sort, and about ?50 on a smooth boot with gsi spoiler.
Which is ?250. Then use the rest of the money to spend on summit else, maybe buckets or something.
OR
B/Spend the money on repairing and carry on modding my astra.

Me thinks nova. :D

Well mate i would say keep saving(if the astra will hold out for a month or so,just into next year) then you will be able to broaden your serch with that little more cash, you can easily get a nice nova SR/SRI for ?750-?800 my mates bro got a mint nova SRI K plate,72.000 miles on it two owners,100% standard solid shell for fron to back,he paid ?780..

Now go ask the same "nova or astra?" question on migweb lol

of course you'd be better off with a nova... for that kinda money you can get a decent one, and the asstra sounds like its about to keel over and die
