If you had a 1.2i the slowest nova made
and you were offered a fast gte engine not standard it is quick like and everything needed, shafts, gearbox etc for free :o
lad would probably fit it for me too
BUT you could not declare it would you do it
i.e it'd still be insured as a 1.2
cheers lads
Serious Question?
Serious answer......... NO!!
you do that and youre an idiot.. may as well not bother insuring car, or taxing it either...

Get that engine and keep it in your garage dude!
Why not.........
Take the engine...........
Take your car off the road.......
Buy a cheap runabout (?250 nova 1.2 or something) to use.....
Get the engine fitted to your off-the-road car while you still have a car to use...................
When you hav got NCD insure your "GTE"
A lot cheaper/safer solution than driving with no insurance!

not really got anywhere to store the engine :x
gotta wait till november till I can insure it
but when i'm that age my just put a redtop in it :D
drop it in and away you go, don't worry about it. noone's gonna check, if the cop's pull you they check that you have insurance, not what engine you have. but if you get caught you screwed don't come on here moaning about it
Get GTE engine for free - flog it on eBay!!

Its people like you that make my insurance go up, so dont even consider it! Only joking no offence like, but that is the way a lot of people will look at it. like someone said get it and sell it. Or get it and spend a year rebuilding it so it runs great...
sod that chap, its not worth the agro and the risk of a ?500 fine and points. Wait till insurance aint too bad then drop her in 8)
Don't even think about it!

erm 1.2i the slowest?
no no no no no
my other half had a 993cc nova as a runaround,
that was slow....till we ranged the shit of out it then it got quicker
ben
lol the 1.0 and the 1.2i are the same power lol
what would actually happen if you got caught?
banned, points, fine?
cos the 1.2i is s**t
lol
true but thought it would make more power than a 993cc
cos the 1.2i is s**t
lol
true but thought it would make more power than a 993cc thats spi for ya mate
If you did that and got caught you would more than likely be banned and get 6 or more points and if your in your fist year of driving you will have to take both tests again its not worth the trouble!!!!!
R u in your first year of driving?
cos the 1.2i is s**t
lol
true but thought it would make more power than a 993cc
Sadly to say the 1.0 is possibly quicker than the 1.2i, the engine is lighter for a start makes the same power thanks to the carb rather than the ghey single point injection module...
The 1.0 just taps like a muthafuckinwhore

1.0 is 45 bhp
1.2i is 44bhp
1.2 carb however is 54bhp :)
not worth the risk
I don't intend to do it
theres a lad near me who has a nova started out with 1.2, then 1.6 and now has a 2.0 8v still insured as a 1..2 :?
a mate of mine is driving around a 1.2 according to the log book but its actually had a full gsi conversion
