ordered a K&N bolt on air filter 2day for my 1.4 nova. been told it will increase power but best of all will give a throaty growl.

dunno how far true this is ?

anyway, will it be easy enough to fit withount me cocking up the engine

cheers guys and gels

yep 3 little bolts (well 6 including removing old one ) lol

but if you want to do a proper jpb drill a hole in the bottom of the filter and plug you pipe back into it

in a word, yes. just make sure u take riggys advice, drill a hole, plug in hose, no frozen carb, not late for work.

its always a billy bonus when ur nova start's first when its cold.

well, even tho ive never had any probs with mine?

erm.
By connecting the oil breather hose back into the K&N i don't think that'll help stop carb icing much.

If you can't live with carb icing then get the K&N extra thing for ?20 that takes hot air from the exhuast manifold area or make one yourself.

would a breather filter sort this problem ???

no a breather only vents gases back into the combustion cycle, it doesnt really pass much hot air through it. The k+n add on is quite usful but its better to fit the original filter back on for those cold days
