there's two mini's round my way with Metro Turbo engines in.

they are insanely nippy for what they are.

on their own, they are kinda funky, look really nice lowered, smoothed off and with a zeemax kit on.

but really they are still very very basic, unpractical and horrifically unsafe.

After all they are based on a design from the 1960's or something.

if you've got big bucks to put into one, and make it really unique, then go for it. but i'd much rather have a Subtly modded nova than a subtly modded mini.

you can get a c20xe lump in a mini, that must be f-in rapid :o

can you ?

that'd be a fucking tight fit !

the metro turbo'd mini's i mentioned above are rapid enough, it's scary sitting in one. a xe would probably make me shit myself

f**king hell an XE in a mini! it'd be mental!
my mates got a mini in matalic blue with crome stuff every where, looks smart.

any one every heard of a metro with a 1.4 16v engine in as standard?
my mate just baught one and said its quick maybe quicker than his XR2.

would it do a 1.4 SR?

You can get better than an XE in a mini, Try a Vtech 1800 from a Civic :)

180+ brake anybody...

this is what i mean..

if you can afford to do something silly to a mini, then get it instead of the nova. If not i think they're a little too boring and restrictive.

Yes you can get a 1.416v metro, it's called the Metro GTi i think.. the GTA is a 1.48v and a 1.4 metro is also a 1.4 8v, same engine as the GTA.

or the GTi is a 1.616v, and GTA is a 1.416v and the 1.4 is a 1.48v

anyhow, sounds like he has a standard 1.4 8v, but they are pretty quick, my mates gran has one and we hoss it round his farm onit. it'l do 70mph in 2nd and is faster than a 1.4i saxo, and an MG ZR 1.4 :-)

it has walnut dash and full leather seats which is also nice..

2l K series?! thats a T series

a vetec is a good plan as it gives you progressive power so its basically traction control. where as an xe would just light up the tyres all the time etc.

or a nice laggy turbo lol

i know loads of people who have driven someone elses mini and loved it, so they went and bought one, but wound up hating it becaues its too small to be useful etc blah blah

atleast a nova is slightly bigger etc and it probably weighs asmuch as a mini's engine

my firends uncle has just built a sweet one, chopped the roof and lowered the roof (sounds odd but looks cool). so many other small bits done to it like the rear lights have been built into the body work so they are flush. i'll try and get some pictures this weekend. i think v tec is the way to go. no point going for something with nuts power cos it'll be limited by traction. if it can only put down 100bhp without spinning up, get the lightest unit you can the gets down 100bhp. all the rest is a waste of time. 70mph in second in a 1.4 metro?? :o

I love mini's.

Saw an absolute STUNNER the other day driven by..yep, you guessed it..an OLD couple

It was a deep blue, MINT bodywork (not a spot of inconspicuacy (sp) on it), cream leather spotlessly retrimmed interior. I would love that :)
