i need info on strenthening my nova iv cut the back of the roof of already and it looks sweet lol:) but i want to do the job spot on so i can get it road legal im a dab handy with a welder so has anyone ever done this b4?? or seen it and can you give me some clues on how to make it solid ect??

yeah iv seen it looks sweet mines gonna be a little more suttle than that thou not going quite that mad lol i need info on strenth and iv e-mailed fast car but no reply :(

that black ones sweet i like it. id be very interested to know what tailgate he has used for the back iv e-mailed him hopfully he will replyu with some usefull info for me i want to have this done for the summer :)

just looks like the standard hatch tailgate, at a slight angle with triangle pieces of metal to tie it in/fill the gaps to the pillar

no i mean the back behind the seats if you look in his pics he has used a tailgate from perhaps a people carrier or van or estate mabey with the window in it you know what i mean can you see it???

your pickup is sweet mate i love it how long did it take you to do??
can you tell me what i need to do for strenth???
did you have to do anything to get it roadworthy so to spead vic check or anything???

great, only id be a little worried if it were to get rolled, the roof will fall in on you! i'd lile to see a cage at the back there if it were mine!!!

astra boot it under standard roof... then welded in...

so loads of strength if it was rolled...

no checks needed... just make it mot worthy

yeah i know that but id feal safer if had a roll cage, welps could be the best in the world but no good if the panel folds in half!

so you didnt have to strenthen the sills or anything then just put the tailgate under the roof????
have you ever had handleing trouble or any other troubles???

nope it was all fine...

the boot lid isn't far off the spring platforms in the rear...

it had loads of filler to smooth over welds etc... and non of it cracked in 6 months of hard driving

yeh but that hasn't got a double skinned box section boot lid in the back
