my car nearly caught fire!!!

i was drivin and ma car started makina wierd noise like the key was being turnt while it was started

so i turn car off and the things still goin nearly on fire then i hurry 2 disconnect the battery i just get it off and its smokin like fcuk

i dont dare put the battery on

dont want ma baby in flames

any ideas?

sounds like the starter motor has burnt out. happened to my mrs few week ago.

but to be on the safe side just check the wires going to starter to see if theyve burnt.

check that the ignition barrell isnt sticking into the start position which would make the starter keep cranking

the red n black wire had came off the starter motor and was touchin the big thick white wire which wasmakin it spark how hard isit 2 put a new start motor in?

its really easy to swap the starter, may have screwed the alternator tho. due to the arcing, chances are all is ok, be carefull not to snap the brass/copper tsud that the wire ataches to when tightening the nut

a new motor really aint that expensive might be better than going to the scrappy, at least you will know its good and wont mess your car up even more, know what i mean
