I have got an alpine, CDA 787 3R cd head unit in my car, and it has got a strange problem when playing copy cd's.

It will only play cdr's when it feels like it, on some very hot days it wont work at all and reads error, and some very cold days it wont work either.

It will only work when the tempratures is just right, it seems to be very sensitive.

How can i solve this problem, as it runs normal cd's fine, and ocassionally cd'rs fine as well.

Any help considred

two options,

a) get it down to local ice specialist

b) buy a new one?

[a) is probably cheaper  ]

if last of the sr's first suggestion dont work, buy a kenwood head unit. they are the only ones that play anything without a fuss.

mate - I mix psy-trance onto cd and you,re problem probably is the cd quality ...
burn off discs have a very poor shelf life on the protective coating that layers on the disc - therefore SOME head units recognize this ( extreme heat kills these discs ) and will refuse to play then , in case of lense damage.
I must admit tho this will differ from head unit to head unit - even if two of the same head units are used.
tempremental little beggars.
