Just to let you all know, my black nova is now broken up....
http://www.tms-stores.com/pictures/collage.jpg

You can see there was no trace of rust on the shell, I completely derusted the thing when I had it.

The image of the chassis leg is the one that is bent, also the image of the roof shows where it has buckled. Bless.

P.S. it took a while to break as I am lazy, check my sig for the timescale lol.

Here it is when I built it:

http://www.novaload.net/images/car_images/2108big.jpg

Was the best ever rolling shell you could ask for at ?75, only real problem was the sunroof had been plated over for rallying. A pro job on that and it would have been a fantastic little car.

Here is the feature for it (http://www.novaload.net/features/viewfeature.php?ref=2108)

Thanks to:

Me for...well building, funding and then driving it.

Tom, Wez, Stu for helping build and get running, inc. lifts to get bits etc.

Will_F and Ben for the motor, interior, wheels and their advice on things/help

My Parents for tea, food, driveway, bringing me up (of course) and most of all storage space for all the good parts from this car while I am away in France.

Tom and his Nan's Garage...my god where would I be without this bit of help...fantastic! (Quite well stocked single garage with pit.)

Dan and Mike for the shell and the bracing 10 mile tow home in it sat on a box with no brakes at some stupid speeds from Yorkley. (Dan may know where I got it from, in the Forest somewhere)

Beales Garage for me MOT.

And whichever scrapman takes the shell away.

And most of all...........NOVALOAD, can't remember exactly who but I'd like to thank them for all the tech advice and a wealth of info that has proved extremely useful. (Cheers cambridge for getting my account back too!)

It is a lot easier to undo than 'do up' isn't it?

Shame to see it go, looks very clean and shiny.

Yeah it is. Took a lot less time to break than to make. about 7hrs in total. Took 2 weeks of 2-4hrs a night to build, then the 1.8 gave up on me, burnt all the oil on it's last journey and just 'let go' inside.

It was clean and shiney and rot free, I have no pics of when it had just been washed though, these are 'true life' pics. lol.

P.S. any insider info on your next project Al? I am on a down at the mo!

time to cry in the corner... what are you going to do now rob?

robb
25-11-04, 01:53 PM
I have a GTE with free rot, so I gonna contemplate rear (easy) or 4wd nova.

Till I get back i dunno though as i need to look round scrappies and learn more about different types of systems. I don't really like the vaux 4wd system, sounds fragile.

But for the next 3 weeks I am gonna stick a carb on the GTE as it has leccy probs all over and then take it around the woods to build up a nice protective mud layer on it.

Here is another 'naked' car so yours doesn't feel lonely. It hasn't found a home yet so off the the crushers soon if not, as I can't leave it were it is. :(

robb

He he, that's why I have bought a rotten GTE!

but again:

Al's: mint
Mine: bent
Your's (phil): at least has doors and tailgate and a V6/8

P.S. phil what running gear are you using? the std stuff usually found stuck to the arse of that v6/8 or something else?

Philsutton
25-11-04, 05:13 PM
i wish i knew what running gear i was going to use, i was originally going to use a bedford camper van 5 speed box as they are quite small but i cant really find any. Then i was looking at ford V6 boxes out the capri ect.. but im bidding on a standard rover V8 manual box on ebay. Only problem with that is its like as big as the nova, more than likely i will go for the ford V6 stuff as there is loads about an its just about the right size it fit in the nova.

Only thing is it aint having a rear engine or becoming a RWD

the 6 point bolt in cage does go through the dash, it goes through the heater vents on the mk2. Only just though

DrivingSpanner
26-11-04, 01:39 PM
the safety devices one goes thru the dash i think, but one of the others doesnt, it is just before the dash
