got an engine number does any one know how to work out what it comes out of it. or know where i can find out

its:

quick brakedown the
14 is engine size (1.4)
the nz is engine model (sr)
and the number after it is the number assigned to the engine
it appears on the v5 document and is also stamped on the top of the block at the front passengers side corner where the block meets the head

14 means eginie size eg 1400 cc

N is comp ratio

Z means its a carb

could only think it would be nova, astra and possibly tigra
is the 1.4 engine too small for a cav??
could try an see if vaux can identify the engine no but i doubt they would

wont be a tigra i dont think as they came with 16v's
