Are there two types of steering rack?

Just purchased a steering wheel and need to know what boss I need, I know my car is 85 so should need the older one.

But I just wanted to check to see if there were two different types of rack and this monkey is'nt lieing from Halfords.

there are all the same mate!! well i knoe all the colums are the same and thats the bit your wheel will bolt to

you can get power racks aswel ie they reduce the lock to lock

You mean the steering column not the steering rack. the racks are all the same, as are the columns really, but the Mk1 boss is different because it has a different method of cancelling the indicators.
