288mm discs are they overkill i'm gettin new brakes for my 1.2 and seen them new for ?195 GM discs pads and calipers.

I know alot people fit 2.0 brakes but can you get the set up new for less than ?195

just go for the v6 brakes mate as i doubt your car is gonna be a 1.2 for long is it

the V6 brakes are a bit overkill. The 16v ones are fine, your braking is only as good as your tyres anyway. Although the V6 ones look much better. Are you really needing these though on a 1.2?

IMO v6 brakes are too much on a nova, they lock up too easy, much like an on/off switch,16v stuff is spot on for a nova.
The v6 stuff gives a mushy pedal feel too.
I running 16v stuff at the front, cav rear discs, and an astra 16v non abs 22mm master cylinder and servo, using the astras rear brake restrictors, using GM pads front and rear and braided hoses,it doesnt lock the rears even on gravel.
The brakes are spot on,stops on a pin but nice and progressive, with a loverly firm pedal.

if you plan to run a mad power out of a heavy engine like the C20XE or C20LET then i would go for the V6 if there that cheap.

Just my opinion tho
