Right, i know NOTHING about these, but really all i want to know is are they really that great? I've been offered one but dont know if i will see significant gains in power for the moola involved? I'm sure they're really good to have and everything but they're definately not cheap. ANY info on this appreciated as i am clueless :o

P.S they will be being used with twin 40's, headwork and an ast2 cam.

You wont really see any gains. Its to replace the engine loom when the carbs are fitted.

So why do peeps bother getting them? Would you see better gains on an injection engine?

Its a type of engine managment that controls the 40's like the ECU and loom does on the injection, you could also use the 1.4 SR dizzy and coil.

it allows you to run a mapped ign setup so you have the advance that you want when and where you want it.

it can give you a few bhp here and there, it also smooths out the powercurve a bit as you could get the perfect advance for each load site etc blah blah

Okay so on a moolah to bhp gain ratio it is not good! It would be nice to have but as i'm no pro rally driver i think i wont bother. As for the 1.4sr dizzy and coil-i've got a dizzy from a 1.4sr but not the coil-i dont think i need the coil do i? I thought the gsi one would work fine :?:

Yeah, use a coil from a carb'd Nova, not a GSI

If i just need a coil from a carb'd nova could i get one from a 1.3sr? Coz i can get one a lot easier than a 1.4sr one!

are you thinking of buying the kit in the forsale section? if so the it's worth it. but don't pay ?400+ for a new kit

Didn't know there was one in the for sale section? No its the guy i got my fuel pump and pressure regulator from, not sure how much he wants for it though. Would it be worth the money though? I know it'd be good but i'm on quite a tight budget so want to get the biggest gains for the least amount of money possible

And if a coil is only 15 quid new then great-saves me searching for one. Cheers
