My sub has mysteriously stopped working. Ive been trying for 2 days to find a fault but i can't.

I've checked the remote wire, earth, live, and sub-amp connections.

I've swapped the sub for my spare one and it still didn't work which led me to thinking it might be the amp but i checked the amp and connections again and nothing. The green power light is on on the amp, the red protect light doesn't come on atall, all the fuses are fine and the gain is not too far up or down. ANyone got any ideas?

thanks

Sniff by the cone also if theres a strong weird smell coming off it you've prob burnt out the coil(s)!!!

maybe something inside the amp has blown. I was given an amp that would light up the power light but not do anything. I opened the amp up and some component had melted and some of the things soldered across the live and ground connections had come loose. Just got a similar component and soldered everything back and now the amp works fine

yeah check to see if you have an output and check the continuity of the speaker cables with a multimeter to rule out any breaks in the wires

trial and error until you find the problem.

Disconect the remote from the amp and bridge a wire from the battery + to the remote + on the amp. Maybe ur remote wire isnt gettin enough through.

Otherwise try a different speaker, if that doesnt fix it then u know ur subs fine.
