View Full Version : Securing the cowling on Mk1 to Mk2 Dash conversion

how has everyone who has done this conversion (Mk1 to Mk2 dash) secured the cowling by the ignition barrel?

coz mine is wobbling about abit, lol!

Not sure what you mean. Do you mean the steering column shrouds? I used the the two scews at the front to hold the shrouds together. For the bottom shroud to ignition barrel, I used a srew left over from the Mk1 dash that was long enough to reach. The screw didn't fit the screw hole properly but it works!

I fit a mk2 column aswell,although you can just change the plastic part at the top.

yeh not 100% sure if its called the cowling but yeah that it the part I meant! haha

big job fitting the Mk2 column?

what plastic part at the top mate?

the plastic bit at the top of the column that the stalks clip into,change that and the proper screws can be used if you use a mk2 cowl.
