I like it, but im also not too sure about the wheels - i have seen corsa's with speedlines on and they suit it :D
when wills not paying attention dump the tb's on the corsa
no way a nasty corsa!!! and a green one at that
Looks alright as a daily runner? Knowing Ben he probably bought it for about ?21.65
The tyre profile is hilarious though
how much did you get it for ben?? i spose if it was cheap enough then its worth it to run into ground
Run into the ground? A Corsa GSi? No! It needs to be lovingly restored and looked after.
ha i thought it said "New Roundabout" :? :? :?
anyways, that looks truely rank !
some of the Corsa GSI's do look nice, specially White or black ! friend of mine's just had a corsa gsi lump stuck in the nova, it's very very quick !
Never made black GSi's in the UK
Only colours avaliable
Flame red
Glacier white
Caribic blue
Smoke grey
i know someone with a black one, has the badges on as well !
must have had a respray ! :?:  :?: :!:

Whats the rege on it? as they changed the corsa gsi to a sport on about N rege i think,so it could be a corsa 1.6 16v sport with gsi badges..?
scott
it's old, i think it's an M
i was under the presumption the Sport was a 1.4 16v, the replacment for the SRI ?
saying that it is slooooow.
maybe it's a 1.2 badged up ! hahahah i'm gonna check under la bonnet next time i see it

Nope there was the corsa sri c14se 8v
Then the corsa gsi c16xe 16v
then the corsa 1.4 16v sport x14xe 16v
then corsa 1.6 16v sport x16xe...

scott

that explains why they are quick

As it rolled off the production line...it was
Corsa GSI c16xe 16v 1598cc dohc16v n,asp fwd 107bhp@6000rpm 110lbfft@3800
0-60 in 9.0 top out at 121mph... was on sale from 1993
scott
well the one in my mates nova 1.2 is absolutly rapid...
saying that it was built by protec in preston (that's the subaru place i think)
isn't it something to do with restrictions that limit the engine ? as found in a standard Corsa GSi
scott.parker
15-11-04, 10:52 PM
there not quick
Slower than a standard gsi nova  and they weighed a lot more too.
scott
cheers scott..
you've been a reet help in informing me about the corsa GSi !

Later 95-M plate GSi's had X16XE fitted, my Corsa GSi had X16XE that was a 95-N plate.
Along with Tigras which were produced from 95-M onwards.
You can get black GSi's only not in this country, Germany has them and it seems there are a couple of black GSi's floating about in Northern Ireland.
Also note they did make a few Corsa SRi's with the X14XE, that then changed to Sport as you rightly said.
As for the Corsa being slower than the Nova GSi, I would disagree.
Off the mark there is nothing in it, get to 40mph onwards the Corsa GSi will start to pull away.

Lets just say it rolls in corners LMFAO
It was cheap though
And a Corsa GSi is slower than a Nova GSi (got 7 Nova GSi's at the moment to compare it too!)
On paper the performance is almost identicle.
In reality the corsa is too heavy to keep up.
Ojc, you must have been in a s hit nova, or a C20XE corsa.
My old Corsa GSi, I found that Nova GSi's just don't cut the mustard top end and the 16v finds its feet towards the end of the rev range, so motorway speeds the Nova is left trailing

Absolute rubbish. Perhaps if you had bothered to show up on Sunday I could have demonstrated my point.
I feel it would be down to driver in the end.
Excellent way to end a discussion :D
LOL and how slow did you do the 1/4 mile in a 1600 16v Nova 17.8?
LMFAO
Sorry dear, get your facts right 17.1 :( something wrong with it, deffo not the driver as I drove my mates Corsa GSi C16XE with Mantzel, FSE powerboost valve, de-cat & superchip, that was consistantly getting 16.6's and I managed a 16.6, he was driving mine and he got a 17.3
I managed a 1/4 mile of 16.8 in my Corsa GSi way back when.
i agree with ben then as my gte runs 16.2 - 16.4 all day. so id say the novas are quicker from that
Up the 1/4 mile yes as the 8v reaches peak power quicker than the 16v, motorway or dual carriageway driving where torque is required as your are already rolling the 16v will pull away.
So tourqe is good for driving down a straight dual carrigeway but no use on a 1/4.
The main problem with the 1600 16v is a poor preformer on tourqe stakes.
The best standard time put doiwn by a 1600 8v is about 16.2 and the best by a standard 1600 16v is 15.69 or thereabouts, the Nova GSi with a 16v engine is mildy quicker than an 8v (in standard guise) but the corsa is such a fat bastard they slow them down far too much.

There is something very wrong with my baby XE if a standard one is capable of 15.69
Oh dear
That would seem the case.
I think it was Dan who ran against Simon in his 1.6 16v.
Either that or get booked up for your pass plus.
didnt you say before that you were pulling off normally and not launching
Just cause theres an alien in your car dosent mean your cars a rocket denny
LMFAO the alien would make a better job. i miss gears as my arms are to short for a bigger boys car
didnt you say before that you were pulling off normally and not launching
I thought that was the case, but then second time at the pod I went with mates and launching is not a problem.
