distributers?

hi guys just a quickie - but which distributers fit which engines eg 1.2 on 1.6? etc?

As far as I can remember the big black capped distributer fits the 1.2 and the smaller brown capped fits the 1.6 inj (bosch) I think it is! :D

All the ones that have caps fit all, all the later ones with..erm...dispak is it? have a large black thing on them.

1.2i 1.4i and GTE dizzys are interchangeable as complete units (ie u cant fit a brown cap onto a black capped dizzy, but u can fit the complete black dizzy onto a car that had the red capped one)

the coils and ignition modules are also interchangeable between these three

1.4SR is unique to itself

1.3 and 1.2 carb are similar but i dunno fi they are interchangeable

There a 7 pin and a 4 pin version of the modules. The GSi/GTE looms/systems I have had have been the 4 pin ones and the SR/Flair/1.2 something I have encountered have been the 7 pin ones. e.g. the ECU must take over the role of the last 3 pins missing on GSi/GTE modules. Also all self contained coil dizzy looms on Carb models have had 2 pin on dizzy, GSi/GTE I have had have been 3 pin ones.
