a m8 of mine is offerin me a1.4 sr engine n gear box for 100 quid coz his novas bein scrapped the engine itself is in gr8 condition, now he says "ital just go strait in".....is that atal true? coz at the mo my cars a 1.0....so anythings better, is there anything i need to take into account that i aint already such as breaks drive shafts roll bars that sorta stuff any way any help or tips wud b gr8 (i did have a 2.0 cali engine but had to sell it on ebay as i was way in over ma head) :roll:

hi mate i just sold my 1.4 sr engine to a m8 wit a 1L, he didnt have to much problems with it just make sure u have the coil as they are different, and make sure u wire up the starter motor properly too, there the only problems we had wit the car other than that it works fine now

What about fuel return pipe to the fuel tank?

u also need the exhaust manifold as the 1ltr is at the back of the enigne and the sr is at the front

1lt engine mounts are different use the 1.4 ones

i couldnt see the difference in the engine mount brackets but there apparently is one
the actual mounts are the same - only the brackets are supposed to differ
