Right then, my X16XE is playing silly buggers and has been since it was fitted.

Its running fine, idles fine drives fine but its not pulling fast enough.

I know this because when I turn the car off and then turn it back on again and floor it the car goes like its supposed to, really pulling hard for first gear then thats it, it goes flat and slow.

It doe'snt stutter at all, and will do 125 (on the clocks) without a problem just seems to be missing some oooommpphh

What could be the problem?

Are you running correct fuel tank and pump etc?

If you're sure it's not the engine timing, then you need to flash up the ecu codes. Otherwise diagnostic RR sesh?

sounds like its gone into 'limp home' mode on the ecu, try disconnecting the battery for 30 secs then reconnect, and see if that improves things any...

Are you running correct fuel tank and pump etc?

Fitted a SPi tank and fitted a MPi pump, although this pump that I have has been fitted inside the SPi tank...but I'm sure they never made a MPi pump that fits inside the tank?

Is there anyway that I could tell if the pump is SPi or MPi?

Complete guess but have you checked the fuel pressure?

corsas cavs and astras all had intank pumps

and all had high pressure mpi pumps too

u could remove the pump and get a part number to check if u wanted

Spi pump = plastic bodied
MPi pump = metal bodied

When you fitted the MPi pump did you trimm a bit of tghe top of the pump? otherwise it just compresses the pre-pump filter and will cause issues.

I think I will need to get the pump out and have a look, all I know is that the pump is inside the tank.

I would prefer the GSi tank and external pump setup easier to keep tabs on.

If you had bothered to show up on Sunday, I probably could have told you.
