Please help. engine code????

I have a 1598cc carb engine fitted to my nova from a h reg cavalier. all i need to know is the engine code for it? these engines are also fitted to mk2 astras around the same age.

more than likely a 16sv but check the front of the block behind the dipstick theres a flat bit - if u give it a clean with some brake cleaner or summat u should see the code on there
