Differences between 3 door hatchback and 2 door saloons...

What are the mechanical differences between the 3 door hatchbacks and 2 door saloons, Mainly im thinking about:-

Suspension
Exhaust
Rear seats
Rear side windows
Anything else?

Rear side windows different and back glass is different aswell.

Anything else? the hatch has been cut off and a boot and boot lid now sit in its place. im not joking you can see the line that they have welded a extra bit on the normall 3dr shell.

The system is the same and the back box is the same but the tail pipe is different as it has to reach further to get to the rear bumper

the doors, all window bar the rear screen floor pan etc are actually the same. mine has hatch windows in apart from the back screen. all suspension and back axle is the same. exhaust is diffent as its about 12 inches longer. the floor pan has the same part number but there is and extra bit at the rear in the boot.

roof cloth, and the back seat are different as they mount different but they do fit in place.

the saloon rear windows are longer im sure

it has thinner b pillars as ste says and the back edge is totally different due to no hatch mounting

i know this because i was looking at modifing a set of hatch window surrounds to fit as i originally thaught it was just a slight angle difference then realised it was totally different size

Iwould be inclined to belive Andy considering the mods carried out on his Turbo.

Also Ste was wrong about the pillars on the Spyder LMAO

the b pillars are about 1 inch thiner on a saloon than a 3dr as me aragorn and his bro were talking and comparing this last night.

yer and the rear GTE "door cards" i have fitted dont start the "capping" section till about 1" along the window cos of the shorter pillar

i'll take some photos and measurements if anyone really wants :roll:
