Ok, I'm going to rebuild a nova gte (e16se) engine. However, as it's not complete, I was thinking of building a hybrid to save on costs.
The block is complete, new bores, pistons and all around caps.
The head however, is a little dodgy, and the injection system is long gone.
But... I have a c14se head and cam, and can get a 1.4 mpi injection system for free from a corsa mk1.
What I need to know is:
-What is the minimum height for an e16se head, as mine has been skimmed a few times around;
-Will the c14se head and cam fit, or will the compression be too high, and will I loose/gain anything from this swap;
-Is the 1.4 injection system on corsas plug and play, or is it integrated in the loom like nova sri's;
-And finally, any chance of it having an imobilizer?

Cheers!

IF its from an SRi, then you should be ok for the immobiliser bit. The loom is seperate on the corsas. Compressioni should be ok, as it's not mega high on the E16 anyways. Would be worth getting a adjustable pressure reg to tweak the fuelling so it's ok for the larger engine capacity.

Thanks J1400! That's some info to get started now! As for the pressure, could I use the 1.6 injectors/fuel pressure reg to keep the fuelling ok, or are they the same?
I measured my e16se head today, it's 95mm from sealing surface to sealing surface. Is this still ok to use? I would only like to use the c14se as a last resort, unless somenone can confirm valve sizes, flow, etc is equal or better in it.
I also remembered something else: As I'll be using the c14se cam (supposed to be better), should I use the cam sprocket and cambelt from the 1.4 or keep the 1.6 stuff? The number of theeth are different on the cambelt...?!?

i seem to remember CP fitting a 1400 head to a 1600 and couldnt turn it off it was detting that badly

u NEED a 1600ECU and loom

using the wrong parts will only cause u problems, ive done this the other way round with a 1.4 running 1600 injection parts and it went alright but it never fuelled right

power was all over the place with peaks and valleys

im sure u can skim those heads into the spark plug intrusions with no problems

the 1600 head i had on my 1400 had 15thou taken off it and was a good bit into the plug cutouts and it ran fine
the haynes manual should have minimum permissable size for the head
