i never quite mastered this. You have to get something behind the switch to release two clips, one either side, but its hard to do it without breaking the switch cos you have to pull it out a bit to get to the clips. but if your putting a new one in..... but yeah its just pulls out essentially.

its proper hard to do scott mate if your hoping to keep the switch your taking out looking relatively tidy. Yet to remove one without busting the edges. You need to get a couple of screwdrivers or summit similar to get down the right and left hand side of the light switch suround, not the actual knob. As you do this try and prise it out and then its just a simple electrical connection to remove. Seeing as you have to replace the switch is doesnt really matter. if you snap it who cares, only going in the bin anyway
by the way cheers again for bumper

i always break the head light switchs when take them out a mk2 dash, i dont have the patience to do it right, my light also keep going off. When i had a dash in i used to just hit the dash very hard an they came back on. If it does it now i have to try find the switch dangling down an twist it again

easy... just drive down roads that you know well, learn to drive with your eyes shut, that way when the lights go out you will be able to cope!!!
PLUS think of all the bets you could win - driving blindfolded!!!

love it mate youll have to let me know when you uprate the fuelling
hmmm, 200+ bhp would be nice
James
scott the easy way to get at the switch is to take the clocks out , then take the full switch surround out and then get at it from behind
still a pain though :(
