i bought some 14'' nova gte wheels off a mate but they've got crap tyres so i'm probably gonna get some 185's on them, will i have any problems getting them on my mk2 nova lowered 40mm? what is a good profile to get? also, has anyone got any recommendations of what tyes to get? i want to get good enough tyres without emptying my bank account!

i've got some 185/65/14's on my everyday car... the only problem you might have is when it is lowered the front tyres may catch on the arch return on the wings when on full lock when going up and down curbs etc... makes a hurrable noise but hasnt marked my tyres at all !!!!

I've had both Goodyears and BF Goodrich tyres on it... the goodyears are long lasting but crap traction in the wet... the BF's are excelent all round... one of the best road tyres i have used in all conditions and they dont wear out very quickly either, Bonus!

185/60 R14 on Nova GTE alloys lowered 40m wont scrub at all, even on spacers it will never catch the arches or anywhere.
Depends which BF goodrich tyres you're getting. Advantage 2 are pretty decent ones, but avoid the Touring ones, lethal in the wet and pretty poor in the dry.
I had 185/55's on my old GSi rims, they were Toyo Proxes T1's I never had problems with scrubbage, it was the usual GSi rider height (-30mm from std novas ?) unless I was 4 up!
