the 1.4mpi inlet and head is different to the 1.3 and 1.4sr.

If you can make up your own adaptor plate to go onto the inlet it might work with a 32/34.

else T40's.

i modded my c14se head to suit a 1300 inlet. get some cutting tools to fit a drill and have a go

if you change the inlets its advisable to change the flow of the inlet tract's as they will be different now and you won't have as gooda flow i think.

:o They do a T40 manifold for the MPi heads as the flow design is better than the SR cathedral shape ports.
The head is different, you'd need a SR manifold, then it would be better to mod a SR inlet by rounding the ports using chemical metal. But it will make less power than the injection system does

what i was going to say, the mpi system is better than a carb. but if your doing a coversion the its not a bad idea as it save all the loom work.

there was a big depate on here a week ago about what was better, Mpi or carb's.

Carb's are much better. More power.
aparrently even a Weber 32/34 will be better than Multi-point injection.

A 1.4SR with a weber will make 84BHP? and have better crusing fuel economy?
Granted T40's would have more power, but TB40's would be even more power than that. Injection is better due t fuel atomisation and precise (hopefully) fuelling at any point in the load/rpm scale

Right, 32/34's and a home made adaptor plate. Is that gonna be hard to do?

it's the air that make's the power, then fuel added to match, t40's make more power because the flow more air. TB's flow more air than t40's as they have no chokes. carb's and injection will meke the same power if they have the same air intake, it's just the drivability that will be better on injection. as 1400sr will not make85bhp with just a weber carb. the difference between the sr and the sri is from the head. i had a 14nv head and t40's and it made 80bhp, i changed the head to a c14se one, and it made 92bhp. the standard sr is 72bhp the sri is 85bhp. 13bhp difference.
