This little X14XE Beaut was running 45's and allegedly running 178 brake. Not bad for a Ford!!
Although I do love the mark 2 Escorts!!

that looks smart. i have always wondered what engine these cars run as, seen them on TV on like the scottish rally champ and thought they were fast, as they are nearly keeping with imprezas etc.

if its the car that i think it is, i was there at the garage where my car is getting done.

the fella was installing the engine there.

the engine is mint, clutch cost 3 grand on its own.
and yes, the bhp is right.

engine is set up by john hardman rallying, he does loads of rally cars.
he drives a 460bhp super charged 4x4 fiesta. takes it abroad all the time to rally.

3 grand on a clutch i doubt it even a ap racing multiplate dont cost that a f1 spec 3.5in multiplate only costs 3k so no way that one didtry 600 only tops

Vauxhall engines are pretty common in Mk2 Escorts. Its mainly the 2L 16V ones that go into them. Its amazing to watch a Mk2 beat a Imprezza WRC

i'll see if i can get some pics for you of the car.

this fella john hardman has loads of contracts to set up rally cars.
has them in every week.
strip, re-build and send back out again for a month.

CP's 1.4 16v on throttles was highly tuned and only producing 165ish bhp iirc

methinks 178 is perhaps a slight overestimation although i may be wrong

Colin Smith's old Sprint car was a 1.4 16v and had a well proven 180BHP.
